🌞 Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes – Family Fun in the Sun

We’ve just returned from Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes — a place where the sun shines endlessly, the pools are basically a child’s dreamland, and the kids somehow found new ways to tire us out every single day. If you’re thinking about heading to Rhodes with little ones (or big ones) in tow, here’s everything we loved, everything we learned, and they moments we’ll be laughing about for years.

📍 Location

  • Kolymbia, Rhodes — a peaceful, family‑friendly area with mountain views, warm breezes, and that classic Greek‑island charm.

  • 4–4.5 hour flight from the UK — short enough to avoid major meltdowns, long enough for snacks and a movie.

  • We took the TUI coach transfer, and while it worked, it definitely wasn’t our finest decision with four kids aged four and under. Because we landed late at night, everyone was tired, cranky, and running on fumes. The journey took over an hour, and the bus made multiple stops, which felt like an eternity when all we wanted was a bed, a shower, and children who weren’t on the brink of a meltdown.

Next time, we’d 100% book a private transfer. After doing it the long way round, we can confidently say it would be worth every penny for the 30 minute journey, comfort, and the sheer luxury of going straight to the hotel without detours.

💦 Swimming Pools

Pirate Ship Waterpark: (Suitable for little ones 0.5m+) a total kid‑magnet — slides, splash zones, and a full adventure playground that guarantees tired legs by bedtime. This spot was perfect for our 4 boys aged 4 and under!

Big Slides: Minimum height 1.2m - Smaller Slide: Minimum height 0.9m -

Lazy River: A gentle loop perfect for floating, relaxing, or pretending you’re supervising while actually doing nothing at all

It’s colourful, lively, and one of the resort’s biggest highlights for families.

One small downside — the waterpark has deck chairs instead of sunbeds, which isn’t ideal if you’re hoping to stretch out and relax. That said, with kids running from slide to slide like they’re training for an Olympic event, it’s not like you’ll be lying down long enough for it to matter anyway.

Seven Outdoor Pools

Yes — seven. You’re basically spoiled for choice.

  • Activity Area: 3 pools (including one heated), Relax Area: 3 quieter pools perfect for a breather, Deluxe Area: 1 pool exclusively for Deluxe guests

All are surrounded by sunbeds and parasols, and each has its own vibe — from full‑on family fun to blissful calm.

Indoor Pool -

This one’s strictly adults‑only, tucked away inside the spa and fully heated. It’s peaceful, calm, and the complete opposite of the splash‑filled chaos outside. If you manage to sneak away for a quiet dip, treasure it. We never made it to the indoor pools on holiday — probably because indoor pools are our only option in Scotland, so choosing one on holiday just feels wrong.

🛏️ Rooms

Rooms at Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes are split into three zonesActivity, Relax, and Deluxe.

  • The Activity and Relax areas offer double and family rooms.

  • The Deluxe zone gives you upgraded double and family rooms with extra touches.

  • Many room types can be upgraded to swim‑ups, and there are suites with a lounge and even a private pool.

  • Depending on the category, rooms sleep 3–5 people.

Our Room: Relax Swim‑Up Family Room with Partition & Terrace

This room type officially sleeps 2–4, but because two of our little ones were under two, we were able to stay as a family of six.

This room was in the Relax area and comes with:

  • A terrace

  • A queen‑size bed

  • Two extra beds behind a partition, giving everyone a bit of privacy

Was it a squeeze? Absolutely. Did it work? Surprisingly, yes. The older two slept in the partitioned beds, the littles were in their travel cots in the middle, and we still had our own space to unwind once everyone finally fell asleep.

🍽️ Food & Drink

If there’s one thing Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes does well, it’s feeding families who seem to be permanently “just a little bit hungry.” Honestly, with this many restaurants, bars, snack corners, food trucks and ice‑cream stops, your kids will forget what hunger even feels like — but somehow still ask for a snack every 20 minutes.

Main Buffet

  • Olive Chef’s Market – Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Activity area.

The buffet restaurant features a special kids area including seating which our 3 and 4 year old loved!

⭐ Our Rating: 9/10

Pros

  • Amazing pools and splash areas

  • Brilliant kids’ clubs and activities

  • Great food variety

  • Perfect for families with kids of all ages

Cons

  • The resort is quite big — expect lots of walking especially if your room is on the delux/relax side.

  • Kids Club needs to be booked on the HV app and creche and kids club didn’t always align meaning it was tricky to have a full child free hour!

Would we go back? No - but only because we can’t! This resort doesn’t accommodate 6 guests in one room and my husband and i don’t like the idea of sleeping in separate rooms! Otherwise… absolutely yes!

**Update as of 21st January 2026 - this is still my 7 year old’s favourite resort in the world!
